A Message from Executive Director Camille Maben

Thank you to those who attended the 2015 Child Health, Education, and Care Summit on February 10-12, with a special appreciation to attendees who took the time to complete the on-line survey. Your comments and suggestions are invaluable.

During the three days, we had nearly 1,000 participants from a variety of backgrounds listen to keynote speakers and panelists, pre-summit workshops and sessions. In addition, the California State Library hosted a screening of the PBS Documentary Series, "The Raising of American: Early Childhood and the Future of Our Nation." It was gratifying to see the diversity among so many professionals working together to support the health and well-being of California's children and their families.

I'd like to share with you the following interesting results and feedback we received from the evaluation survey:

  • A majority of participants were most interested in the networking opportunities and improving their knowledge of early childhood issues and resources for children and families.

  • The vast majority said the Summit was well organized and exceeded their expectations, and felt the content and information provided by the presenters and the keynote speakers would be useful in their professional work.

  • Additionally, an overwhelming number of participants responded that they would attend the 2016 Summit.

"The Summit was a very high-level affair, from the keynote speakers to the break-out sessions, including the pre-summit. I loved the variety of disciplines represented. I was very impressed with the organization. As someone who is a seasoned early educator, I do not often feel inspired or stimulated by conferences. This was one that I have been raving about to all my colleagues!"

We are eager to begin work on the 2016 Child Health, Education, and Summit, and hope to see you all there!
