Essentials for Childhood (CDPH)
The California Essentials for Childhood Initiative addresses child maltreatment as a public health issue using a collective impact approach. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) was awarded a competitive five-year grant in September 2013 to support this work.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): California Update, 2011-2013 Data
California is among 32 states that collect ACEs data via the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a health-related telephone survey that collects state data about United States residents.

A not-for-profit organization based in Houston, Texas working to improve the lives of high-risk children through direct service, research, and education.

California Child Welfare Indicators Project
Collaborative venture between the University of California at Berkeley and the California Department of Social Services. The project is housed in the School of Social Welfare, and provides policymakers, child welfare workers, researchers, and the public with direct access to customizable information on California’s entire child welfare system.
